The Great Benedict Biscop Bake Off

Yesterday, Year six had there very own Bake Off with our very own Mary Berry (Mr Allison). In the learning centre, 31 mini chefs got to work on making a delicious wartime recipe (Carrot rolls- cooked carrot rolled on the middle of mashed potatoes). We were in groups of five, and each had our own table – which was set up like a technical challenge – to bake on. We had crunchy carrots, marvellous mash, magnificent marmite and a perfect peeler. We also had a set of instructions. After we grated the carrots, we cooked them for five minutes; meanwhile, we wrote instructions. If you are wondering why we did a wartime recipe, our topic has been WW2! We have been learning about Hitler, the Jews, Anne Frank, and many other famous people. After they had finally come out of the oven, we tucked into our delicious carrot rolls.

We can even wash up and tidy!
