Our first half term is complete

World War II On our first week back at school we went to Beamish. We had a lot of fun while there and did a lot of activities. First we met Ian and Dan, who gave us a lot of information about the life of an evacuee. We then got split into our groups (I was in Dan's group) and then walked up a very steep hill. We stop at a house at the top of the hill and went into the back garden. There, we went into an Anderson Shelter. This is where people would go if there was an aid raid treat. After lunch, we went   back into our groups and my group did some baking; we made carrot cookies with rationed food. Lastly, we got trained to be soldiers. Maybe we could of fought for our country. We also learnt about the dig for victory campaign. We leant about why it started in the first place and who did it. We found out that almost everybody did it: Children, adults and elderly. We learned about rationing,   and found out more than just food was rationed. It was clothes, food, even petrol
